Trypsin inhibitors from some legumes depress growth and cause hypertrophy-hyperplaise and carcinogenic effects.  The main objective of this work was to analyse Vicia faba (var Alameda and Brocal) seeds during germination, to quantify the content of trypsin inhibitors and to analyse qualitative variation in trypsin inhibitors isoform patterns.  In this work a novel, convenient system to analyse trypsin inhibitors isoforms from Vicia faba has been developed.
