Recently, EUCARPIA has come to several agreements with Blackwell Publishers, Cambridge University Press and Springer about a special subscription rate to five journals of broad interest to plant breeders (Plant Breeding, Euphytica, Molecular Breeding, Theoretical and Applied Genetics, Plant Genetic Resources and Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution) at very reduced rates for EUCARPIA members. For information regarding each journal and their subscription prices click below.

Plant Breeding publishes original papers and short communications by internationally recognized scientists, covering all areas of plant breeding, including plant genetics, plant physiology, plant pathology, and plant development. The journal focuses on crop plants and is therefore of interest to seed companies and the plant breeding industry as well as to researchers and teachers in this field. Fields of interest include the genetics of cultivated plants as well as research in practical plant breeding.

Reduced subscription rate for EUCARPIA members (2008): 81 Euros (6 issues per year)

New subscriptions to Plant Breeding can be made in the journal's web page (http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/journal.asp?ref=0179-9541) using the special subscription for EUCARPIA members. Members already subscribed will receive a renewal form from Blackwell.

Euphytica is an international journal on theoretical and applied aspects of plant breeding. It publishes critical reviews, papers and short communications on the results of original research related to plant breeding. The integration of modern and traditional plant breeding is a growing field of research using transgenic crop plants and/or marker assisted breeding in combination with traditional breeding tools. The contents cover the interests of researchers directly or indirectly involved in plant breeding, at universities, breeding institutes, seed industries, plant biotech companies and industries using plant raw materials, and promote stability, adaptability and sustainability in agriculture and agro-industries.

Molecular Breeding is an international journal publishing papers on applications of plant molecular biology, i.e., research most likely leading to practical applications. The practical applications relate to the Developing as well as the industrialised World and have demonstrable benefits for the seed industry, farmers, processing industry, the environment and the consumer. Papers published contribute to the understanding and progress of modern plant breeding, encompassing the scientific disciplines of molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, physiology, pathology, plant breeding, and ecology among others. Core areas for Molecular Breeding include contemporary methods of molecular genetics and genomic analysis, structural and functional genomics in crops, proteomics and metabolic profiling, abiotic stress and field evaluation of transgenic crops containing particular traits. Papers on marker assisted breeding are also published, in particular novel approaches and new results of marker assisted breeding, QTL cloning, integration of conventional and marker assisted breeding, etc.

Theoretical and Applied Genetics was founded in 1929 as "Der Züchter", a German journal for genetics and breeding research. The title changed in 1968 to "Theoretical and Applied Genetics", and it became an international journal for plant breeding research. Theoretical and Applied Genetics publishes original research in plant genetics, plant genomics and plant biotechnology. All work needs to have a clear genetic component and significant impact on plant breeding. Theoretical considerations are published in combination with new experimental data. Preference is given to work on leading crop plants and papers presenting innovative approaches.

Plant Genetic Resources is an international journal that brings together the many diverse topics concerned with plant genetic resources. Each issue gives you access to peer-reviewed research papers on genetic variation in plants, both crop and non-crop, as well as on the technical, socio-economic, legal and geo-political aspects of PGR. Many papers feature research directed to endangered non-crop and medicinal plants. The journal is of interest to researchers and scientists involved in the plant genetic resources community, including: breeders, all those with an interest in germplasm, policy makers, consultants and research students.

Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution is devoted to all aspects of plant genetic resources research. It publishes original articles in the fields of taxonomical, morphological, physiological, biochemical, genetical, cytological or ethnobotanical research of genetic resources and includes contributions to gene-bank management in a broad sense, that means to collecting, maintenance, evaluation, storage and documentation. Areas of particular interest include: crop evolution, domestication, crop-weed relationships, related wild species, history of cultivated plants including palaeoethnobotany. Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution also publishes short communications, e.g. newly described crop taxa, nomenclatural notes, reports of collecting missions, evaluation results of gene-bank material etc. as well as book reviews of important publications in the field of genetic resources.raw materials, and promote stability, adaptability and sustainability in agriculture and agro-industries.
