Potato Breeding after Completion of the DNA Sequence of the Potato Genome


EUCARPIA - EAPR joint meeting
Wageningen, The Netherlands
27-30 June 2010

The joint meeting of the EAPR section ‘Breeding and varietal assessment’ and the EUCARPIA section ‘potatoes’ would like to invite an audience ranging from practical breeders to potato genome scientists and will offer ample opportunity for PhD students to present their research projects and offer a highly reduced fee. The conference is hosted by Wageningen University and is accommodated by the conference centre ‘Hof van Wageningen’ (formerly WICC). The conference secretariat involved in registration is staffed by Liesbeth Bouwman (Liesbeth.Bouwman@wur.nl).

International Symposium on Rye Breeding and Genetics

Fodder Crops and Amenity Grasses Section:
1st Festulolium Working Group Workshop is postponed

Because of the air traffic difficulties in April the 1st EUCARPIA Festulolium Working Group Workshop is postponed. The workshop will be organized by the Institute of Plant Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań. Joint EU-TREEBREEDEX and EUCARPIA Meeting
of the Forestry Working Group
Limoges, France, October 12-14, 2010

This will be the first meeting of the new EUCARPIA Forestry Working Group. Two main topics will be discussed: the first one is about political and socio-economical aspects of breeding in forest trees and the second one is about cooperative breeding across Europe.

"Breeding for resilience: a strategy for organic and low-input farming systems?"
2nd EUCARPIA Organic and Low-input Section Conference
Paris, France, 1-3 December, 2010 
 

This conference will be jointly organized by INRA (UMR Le Moulon, SAD-Paysage Rennes, Montpellier) and ITAB at a special site in Paris, Le Comptoir Général, which is based on ecological and social responsibility, and supports another view point on today’s world. EUCARPIA 29th Fodder Crops and Amenity Grasses Section Meeting

The potential impact of the new technologies  became available for application in breeding  and developments in science on real world forage and turf grass breeding raises the question: “What will the future of forage and turf grass breeding look like?”
